The Same Boat - Exhibition open

Originally planned as part of our Wulfram 2020 celebrations, we are delighted that this project has been reimagined slightly to reflect the current Covid-19 situation, so that we are able to experience this inspiring project.

The project will see the creation of five new artworks, inspired by the 'Stations of the Cross' and the story of St Wulfram, for a community exhibition inside the church for Easter 2021.

Four pieces will be created by different community groups across the town led by one of two local community artists who will work alongside our Artist in Residence.

Each artwork will be inspired by a single word (Betrayal, Courage, Suffering, Nakedness & Hope).

The fifth and final piece will be created by Lead Artist, Mohammed Ali, an international Islamic street artist. Together with vocalist and composer Cleveland Watkiss, Mohammed will complete and launch the exhibition, as part of a live event inside the church.

The involvement of Mohammed and Cleveland will significantly lift the profile of event – the notion of an Islamic artist creating work live in a Christian church is something that is likely to attract local, regional and possibly even national attention.

We are very grateful to both Arts Council England and SKDC Community Fund for their generous sponsoring of this project.
